L’arciere si
tolse l’elmo e lo sostituì con quello di feltro colore verde foresta.
La sfida era
stata raccolta e non poteva fare altrimenti.
Pregò in cuor
suo che cessasse il tremolio alle mani e si aiutò con un bel sorso di latte. Lo
stesso usato per quel nuovo tipo di formaggio.
Ordinò al figlio
di prendere la mela, contare duecento passi e piazzarla sopra alla forma.
Poi scoccò.

The archer took off the helmet which
he replaced with the forest green felt one.
The challenge had been accepted and
he could not back down.
He prayed in his heart that the
trembling in his hands would stop. He helped himself with a sip of milk.
The same milk used for that new type of
cheese.
He asked his son to take an apple,
walk away counting two hundred steps and put it on top of the cheese form.
Then he shot.
